Granulator Ii Ableton

Finding your “Sound” as a producer nearly always begins with learning new ways to (literally) create NEW sounds. Lucky for you, Ableton Live is full of MIND-BLOWING sound design tools including a hyper-powerful synth, Granulator II. At Warp Academy, we have a resident glitch & granular sound design expert, Merlyn Silva. Granulator II is a Max4Live synthesizer based on the principle of quasi-synchronous granular synthesis. It creates a constant stream of short crossfading sections of the source sample, and the pitch, position and volume of each grain can be modulated in many ways to create a great variety of interesting sounds.

Check out the Glitches & Grains Granular Sound Design Course: the free project file from Warp Academy: http://bit.ly/Glitch. On one Ableton site it says 'download granulator II for Ableton 9.granulator II is already included in Live 10 Suite'.

Your bass sound could use some more character - how about a...sample of a toilet flushing? Using granular synthesis, filters, and other sound design tools, everyday sounds can be sculpted into textures that enhance your music. In a new tutorial, Ableton Certified Trainer Vespers demonstrates how to create these textures, using the Granulator II by Monolake for Max for Live, and Live 9's effects:

Vespers has also made a selection of foley samples for granular sound design available as a free download from his site.

An amazing device for creating your own textures, pads, and atmospheres, the Monolake Granulator II uses granular synthesis to create a constant stream of short crossfading samples from a source sound. The size, behavior, modulation, envelope, and other properties of the short samples can be tweaked via the Granulator’s controls. Watch Monolake Granulator II creator Robert Henke demonstrate how to use this instrument to create a lush pad from the sample of a clanging glass:
